Big Rock Sports, a wholesale distributor of sporting goods, has an immediate need for a National Account Manager to work out of our office in Clackamas, OR.  The National Account Manager will be responsible for retaining, developing, growing long-term partnerships with existing accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provides a lead role in all aspects of account management and coordinates account and business development activities.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Assist marketing and sales management with development of marketing strategies and advertising plans as appropriate.
  • Achieves account profitability and sales targets, serving as the primary account contact.
  • Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Plans and prepares effective and industry leading merchandising programs.
  • Builds professional and productive relationships with customer accounts to ensure opportunities are being addressed in a timely manner.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of Word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software. WDS inventory software and qlikView database software a plus.
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of management and business organizations.
  • Prior experience within the retail industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and sales concepts preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related account management or sales experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Excellent analytical skills.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in business management or related field.
